Job Description:
This is an entry-level position in the Facilities Management department. The position may entail work focused on groundskeeping and the caregiver may be assigned to work in a variety of areas of focus.
The Maintenance Worker I – Grounds may also have opportunities to assist with and learn general maintenance skills in a hospital setting.
Essential Functions
+ Maintains the appearance, condition, and safety of facility grounds, landscaping, parking areas, irrigation systems, and related equipment to meet seasonal needs.
+ Assignments may include planting, fertilizing, clipping, pruning, mowing, blowing, weeding, shoveling snow, plowing, irrigation monitoring, and applying chemical control products.
+ Have basic knowledge in landscape maintenance, including irrigation systems, and the use of insecticides and herbicides on turf, trees, and flowerbeds.

Qualifications

+ Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements
+ Bending, lifting, stooping, crawling, laying, sitting, walking, climbing.
+ Use of hand and power tools, proper use of hearing and eye protection.
+ Exposure to extreme temperatures in nature, work in noisy or constricted spaces, exposure to odors and smells.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$17.85 - $24.04
