Our organization is in search of a dynamic, self-motivated, and experienced Permanent HPC System Administrator. The successful candidate will join our team to manage and maintain our High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure. This role is not just about maintenance; it's about enhancing our systems' capabilities, ensuring our technology infrastructure is robust, secure, and able to drive our business forward. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on the challenge of managing complex computing systems and is passionate about leveraging technology to create business solutions.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of high-performance computing (HPC) systems.
2. Perform system administration tasks, including user account management, application installation and configuration, system monitoring, problem diagnosis, and performance tuning.
3. Collaborate with the team to design and implement new systems and infrastructure improvements.
4. Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of HPC systems.
5. Work closely with users to assist with problem-solving, optimization, and scaling of applications.
6. Maintain system documentation and develop procedures to ensure system integrity.
7. Manage system backups and data storage, ensuring data integrity and availability.
8. Monitor system performance and utilization, and make recommendations for improvement.
9. Ensure the security of the HPC systems, implementing and maintaining security policies and procedures.
10. Provide technical support and training to users, ensuring efficient and effective use of HPC resources.
Qualifications
1. Active Top Secret Security Clearanace (TS/SCI preferred).
2. Current Security+ and Linux+ certs.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration with a focus on HPC environments.
4. Proven experience with Linux system administration and scripting.
5. Strong knowledge of network and storage systems.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
8. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
