About the Job
Red Pepper's HR Generalist will play a crucial role in managing the employee lifecycle from recruitment to offboarding, ensuring smooth HR operations, compliance with internal policies, and fostering a positive work environment. This position will support the company goals by managing the hiring process, employee relations, compliance, and employee training initiatives, while ensuring adherence to company policies and labor regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the full recruitment cycle, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting phone interviews, and coordinating interviews with hiring managers. Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure completion of new hire paperwork to integrate employees smoothly into the company.
- Job Offers & Background Checks: Prepare and extend job offers, conduct pre-employment background checks, and ensure a seamless transition from candidate selection to onboarding.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, mediate conflicts, and provide guidance on company policies. Foster a positive workplace environment by addressing concerns and promoting a healthy work culture.
- Performance Management: Coordinate the performance review process, ensuring timely evaluations and tracking employee progress. Assist managers with providing constructive feedback and addressing performance concerns.
- HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws and company-specific policies, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and other regulatory requirements. Regularly update HR practices to reflect legal changes and conduct internal audits to maintain compliance.
- Policy Enforcement & Handbook Management: Enforce company policies consistently and fairly across all departments. Assist in updating and maintaining the employee handbook to ensure all policies are clearly communicated and current.
- Behavioral Management & Corrective Action: Administer disciplinary actions such as behavior corrections, formal warnings, write-ups, and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), in collaboration with management.
- Training & Development: Assist in the coordination, and follow-up of training programs that support employee growth and align with the company's strategic goals. Monitor the effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Offboarding: Oversee the offboarding process, including handling exit interviews if needed and ensuring all required paperwork is completed. Gather insights during exit interviews to inform retention strategies.
- File Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring all HR files are up-to-date and compliant with legal and company standards. Track and report on HR metrics.
- Conflict Resolution & Employee Feedback: Mediate internal disputes and act as a neutral party to resolve conflicts. Regularly collect and respond to employee feedback to improve workplace culture and satisfaction.
- Internal Communications & Employee Engagement: Support internal communications efforts and assist in planning employee engagement activities that foster a sense of community and boost morale.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar HR role.
- Strong understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
- This is an onsite position.
