Responsibilities
The HVAC Mechanic shall have a minimum of ten (10) years experience. This position is located in the Laurel, Maryland area. State of Maryland journeyman license required. Shift is M-F 7:00am to 3:30pm with overtime as required. Salary $45-$48 per hour.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair of the following: Large chillers, steam hot water boilers, cooling towers, on campus setting with multiple buildings including lab with animals
- Operate and perform Preventive Maintenance of HVAC systems and subsystems
- Maintain plant and equipment in sound operating condition
- Perform Refrigerant recovery and recycling
- Operate Building Energy Management System (EMS) and associated building controls
- Interface with building managers and other customer representatives in order to ensure client satisfaction
- Accurately document work performed on trouble tickets or work orders
- Place and/or remove systems, hardware and equipment as required
- Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent
- HVAC Journeyman or Masters required
- 10 years experience working on commercial HVAC systems
- Completed coursework in HVAC areas
- Must have working knowledge of 480V and below electrical systems, HVAC and plumbing system
- Universal CFC Certification
- Must demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in Building Operations
- Must be able to pass background check to obtain government site badge
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced work environment
- Valid driver's license
