Hard Surface / Gun Artist- BigBoxVR - Meta

**Summary:** You are a seasoned and talented Hard Surface / Weapon Artist looking to build the next generation of games in VR. You have multiple years of experience with Maya, Zbrush and the Unity Editor (or other 3D game engines like Unreal) and love to create fun and interesting guns, grenades and gear for a live-service, online game. You have a passion for First Person Shooters and creating assets that demonstrate authenticity and realism. **Required Skills:** Hard Surface / Gun Artist- BigBoxVR Responsibilities: 1. Create high quality 3D models and assets (Weapons, Gear, and gadgets) in both high-poly and low-poly versions 2. Ensure art assets are performant and within budgets for draw calls, poly counts, and texture memory without compromising visual quality 3. Develop new gun ideas that fit within conceptual designs, technical parameters, and production goals, for a live-service online game 4. Possess the expertise, experience, and organizational skills to complete weapon models from concept to in game assets with minimal oversight and to mentor team members in similar tasks 5. Ability to take and quickly address feedback as well as provide feedback to others **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 6. 6+ years work experience in game development as a hard surface/weapon artist using Maya (or 3DSMax), Photoshop, Substance Painter, Zbrush or Mudbox 7. Proven understanding of modern guns and realistic weapon aesthetics 8. Experience creating game ready, realistic weapons with a solid understanding of weapon form and function 9. Proven modeling, sculpting, material, and texturing skills for PBR 10. Experience working in a fast-paced AAA Studio production pipeline 11. Experience working on live service titles 12. Proven understanding of asset optimization challenges/techniques in a shipped product 13. Experience mentoring other team members 14. Self-motivated problem solver with the skills to work well independently 15. Portfolio of highly detailed 3D art with a focus on realistic guns 16. Proven experience with game engines such as Unity, Unreal, or equivalent experience **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 17. 8+ years of experience in the games industry 18. 2+ shipped AAA titles as a weapon/ hard surface artist 19. Experience with Unity 20. Experience learning new software tools and pipelines 21. Experience concepting original weapons/gadgets 22. Experience with Perforce and/or Git 23.
