Job Title: Hardware Lab Technician
Location: Redmond, WA
Duration: 5 Months on W2 (with Extension)
Job Responsibilities:
" Execute tests on data center computing and cooling hardware.
" Assemble and modify existing pieces of equipment to meet special needs.
" Build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
" Monitor the functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure the system operates in conformance with specifications.
" Confer with engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate the interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of the overall system.
" Provide training and support to system designers and users.
Typical Day in the Role
" Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is Azure Cloud hardware.
" Key projects: This role will contribute to Azure Cloud hardware lab work.
" Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of executing Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) measurements on test boards and engineering validation boards for the validation of interconnect performance, assembling systems or test fixtures as needed to prepare for measurements, adding instrumentation to devices/boards under test to enable high precision measurements and some soldering may be necessary to prepare boards for measurement.

Technical Skills:
" Experience working with data center compute hardware - such as servers, network switches, power delivery units, etc.
" Experience executing and modifying scripts for computing hardware testing, including scripting tools such as Python, CLI, SSH, Redfish, Postman, etc.
" Experience working with UNIX or Linux-based operating systems.
" Experience reworking computer circuit boards - i.e. soldering components onto printed circuit boards.
" Experience with electronics test equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power supplies, DVMs, emulators, etc.
" Experience with server cooling equipment, including air cooling, liquid cooling, and immersion cooling.
Education/Experience:
" Two or four-year technical degree preferred.
" 5-7 years of industry experience required.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience
