About the Job
A Project Manager, Hardware is responsible for developing and implementing project plans and programs from inception to completion to assure the hardware products designed, developed and manufactured within the Voting Tabulation, market segments meet product specifications. The Project Manager, Hardware shall organize resources to maximize throughput, productivity and contribute to the marketability and profitability of ES&S Voting Systems products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop project plans, goals and budgets; identifying resources needed. This shall be accomplished by collaborating with various owners of the product development and release life cycle to ensure full understanding of responsibilities, timelines, processes, and terminology.
- Plan and facilitate all project tasks from initial project conceptualization through requirements definition, scope development and sign-off, architecture, construction, quality assurance, certification and ultimately release.
- Guide and perform strategic analysis for the project. Analyze current processes, develop plans for improvements, and implement solutions with the goal of seeking continuous improvement through all phases of the product development and manufacturing life cycle.
- Plan and direct project activities including project status and management meetings, activity tracking and reporting. Organize and coordinate cross-department teams to assure project stakeholders are informed and enables to complete responsibilities within project timeframes.
- Plan, prepare and disseminate project communications including deadlines, tasks, progress on critical paths, requirements and risks in verbal and written forms.
- Identify, analyze and implement new systems, technologies and methodologies with a view of continuous improvement and innovative practices that improve efficiency and quality in all phases of the product release life cycle.

Qualifications:
Education: Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering/development; computer programming, Information Technology or related field.
Experience:
At least 5 years experience including:
Management, technical, analytical, production, development and/or project management environment
Experience with various aspects of the hardware development life cycle
Project Management training
Competencies:
Technical capacity including proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Project, Team Track and other work flow/project management tools.
Problem Solving/Analysis
Communication proficiency
Personal effectiveness/credibility
Licenses/Certifications Required: None
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: This job operates in a variety of environments including professional office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers; and production or warehouse environments which exposes incumbents to production machinery/tools and material handling equipment.

Travel: Approximately 20% travel is expected.
