Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at an inpatient behavioral health facility. As a Chef in this unique environment, you will play a crucial role in promoting health and well-being by providing nutritious and delicious meals for individuals in an inpatient behavioral health setting. Your culinary expertise will contribute to creating a supportive and positive atmosphere, supporting individuals in their behavioral health journey.
Responsibilities:
1. **Menu Planning:** Designing and planning menus that align with nutritional guidelines and cater to the specific dietary needs of individuals in inpatient behavioral health. This includes considering special dietary requirements and restrictions.
2. **Meal Preparation:** Overseeing the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients. Adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation standards to promote a safe and clean kitchen environment.
3. **Nutrition Expertise:** Collaborating with nutritionists and healthcare professionals to ensure that meals are not only tasty but also nutritionally balanced to support the overall well-being of individuals in inpatient behavioral health.
4. **Dietary Education:** Providing information and education to individuals about the importance of nutrition. Offering guidance on making healthy food choices to support their well-being.
5. **Team Collaboration:** Working closely with kitchen staff, dietary specialists, and other members of the behavioral health team to coordinate meal plans and address individual dietary needs.
6. **Budget Management:** Assisting in budget planning for the kitchen, ensuring cost-effective meal preparation while maintaining high-quality standards.
7. **Compliance:** Adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations, including food handling and storage guidelines. Staying informed about any dietary restrictions or recommendations for individuals in inpatient behavioral health.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a healthcare or inpatient behavioral health setting.
2. Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
3. Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements.
4. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
7. Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment.
