Essential Functions
- Assembles inpatient, same day surgery, and outpatient procedure records in date and document order daily. Retrieves daily discharges from the nursing units as assigned.
- Analyzes and assigns incomplete record deficiencies in Epic for inpatient and same day surgery records in accordance with Joint Commission, CMS, NJDOH, and Cooper University Hospital Cape Regionalspecific guidelines.
- Record and document that all of the components of the record are present including those in the hard copy and those from the electronic COLD feeds.
- Scanning of loose miscellaneous reports received from daily discharges and through interoffice mail.
- Demonstrates commitment to a Culture of Patient Safety and High Reliability through use of and promotion of high reliability principles and the NJ STRONG patient safety behaviors. Engages in reducing unsafe practices and drives improvement in culture of safety through implementation of NQF and other best practices as appropriate for the discipline. Demonstrates commitment to achieving the highest level of performance for external benchmarking, (e.g. Leapfrog, payor based pay for performance, Medicare Star rating, etc.)
- Perform other duties as required by Director, Record Processing Coordinator, or designee.
