Job Title: HSE Supervisor
Location: Morenci, AZ
Duration: 1 year Starts 10/14
Type: 1099 Contract
Compensation:
• Hourly Rate: $45/HR overtime after 40
• Per Diem: $150/Day on 7 days
• Completion Bonus: $150/month
• Pay: Weekly
Schedule:
• Hours: Full coverage for a day and night shift. About 12 hours each but the exact times are TBD
Project Scope:
Overseeing safety of installing our clients equipment into their client's facility. Their client is Freeport Mcmoran which is a large mining company. The HSE Supervisor is responsible for executing and supporting objectives, processes, procedures, and plans as required by the Health, Safety, and Environment program. This role focuses on preventing injuries and environmental accidents through hazard identification, providing safe tools, training employees on safe working methods, and inspecting work sites.
Qualifications:
Education/Training:
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
- OSHA/NIOSH Certifications; experience will be considered.
Experience:
- 5+ years' experience in HSE.
- Experience in HSE with field/site services, mining, construction & demolition, engineering, or large machinery-related industries is preferred.
- Good knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with regional HSE manager to develop and implement an HSE program across field services projects.
- Participate in developing a positive safety culture.
- Implement and maintain preventative procedures to minimize risk to all employees.
- Prepare reports detailing current HSE activity.
- Investigate, report, follow up, and maintain all necessary paperwork for all accidents/incidents.
- Update the emergency plan and prepare regular safety exercises.
- Collaborate with regional management to ensure compliance with local and customer safety requirements.
- Understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Maintain positive customer relations.
- Conduct regular HSE field services audits and inspections.
- Evaluate contractors and suppliers concerning safety, health, and environment.
- Analyze operational risks prior to work commencement.
- Analyze all accidents and incidents to work towards a zero-accident target.
- Other duties as assigned.
Travel:
- Up to 80% may be required for this position.
Relationships:
- Report directly to the HSE Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong leadership, development, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English.
- Good understanding of HSE development and trends.
- Proficient in computer skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Highly motivated and focused individual with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful HSE strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage internal and external issues.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Essential Physical Job Functions and Work Environment:
- Occasionally engage in manual handling activities, including lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements as necessary for task completion.
- Requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, and maintain balance.
- Climbing of stairs, ladders, and scaffolds may be required at customer facilities.
- Exposure to various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, weather conditions, and elevated noise levels.
- May encounter hazardous materials and moving mechanical parts.
- Requires the ability to travel between job sites and customer facilities, sometimes on short notice.
