Job Title: Heavy Civil Construction Estimator

About Us: gpac is representing a prominent player in the heavy civil construction industry, specializing in DOT heavy highway and bridge projects. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions and are looking for a skilled Heavy Civil Construction Estimator to join our team.

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Heavy Civil Construction Estimator with at least 2 years of experience in performing and/or assisting with take-offs and the preparation of bid estimates for DOT heavy highway and bridge projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of civil construction processes and be proficient in cost estimation and bid preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate quantity take-offs for heavy civil construction projects, including highways and bridges.
• Prepare detailed and competitive bid estimates for DOT projects, ensuring all costs are accounted for.
• Review project plans and specifications to identify scope, materials, and labor requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
• Analyze and interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and costs.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and construction methods.

Qualifications:

• 2-10 years of experience in estimating for heavy civil construction projects, specifically DOT heavy highway and bridge work.
• Proficiency in performing take-offs and preparing bid estimates.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with industry software and tools for estimating is a plus.
