PLC Application engineer

Work Location: Sacramento, CA

Project Duration: 6+ Months (C2H)

Work Mode: Hybrid

The PLC Applications Engineer must be capable of writing PLC programs OIT programs, and software control descriptions for controlling various water and/or wastewater processes. Responsible for the analysis, design, programming, debugging and modification of programmable logic for such applications. Verify that all aspects of PLC & OIT functionality meet required project specifications and perform bench testing, shop testing, and troubleshooting during startup and post-commissioning. Ability and willingness to train and aid other programmers, along with assisting in the development of departmental best practices and standards.

Qualifications

• Write PLC operating program based upon control specification and/or industry standards to assure safe, reliable and optimal equipment operation
• Write (publish) concise operating instructions detailing; control parameters and their effects under normal and failure conditions
• Provide technical assistance (phone or job-site) to verify and/or modify PLC program
• Work with various departments internally, along with consulting engineers, customers and end-users to assure proper system layouts and designs
• Analyze and interpret existing programs and documentation to identify systems' requirements and project modifications
• Ensure assignments and work schedules follow policy and procedures
• Assist in the standardization of department programming practices and procedures
• Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of planning, documentation and execution of development activity
• Function as technical leadership of projects and support larger scale projects
• Communicate effectively to a wide range of internal and external contacts
• Assist in training other employees on any aspect above
• Provide weekly content and job status reports used with scheduling tools.
