What Will You Do as a Homeless Services Manager?
As the Homeless Services Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering essential services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, particularly those affected by mental illness and substance use disorders. You will oversee a caseload of approximately 300 clients and lead a dedicated team of outreach and residential workers, ensuring high-quality care and support are provided. Your responsibilities will include managing program operations, conducting thorough program analysis, overseeing budget management, and preparing grant reports. Additionally, you will develop innovative initiatives to improve service delivery and meet the complex needs of our vulnerable population. You will coordinate psychological assessments, crisis interventions, and medication management, working to provide comprehensive solutions that make a real difference.
What we're looking for in a Homeless Services Manager
To excel as a Homeless Services Manager at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and at least three years of hands-on experience in providing direct care to homeless individuals with complex needs. Additionally, applicants must have at least one year of supervisory experience, showcasing strong leadership and team management skills. A valid Driver's License is essential for this role, as it may involve outreach activities and client visits. The ideal candidate will exhibit empathy, excellent communication, crisis intervention skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

The knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and three (3) + years of direct care experience in homeless services to the client population to which assigned with one (1) year of supervisory experience. Valid Driver's License
