Gundy County Memorial Hospital

Grundy County Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Grundy Center, Iowa and is an affiliate of UnityPoint Health – Waterloo. The hospital provides essential 24/7/365 emergency care along with inpatient care. The Specialty Clinic offers a variety of specialties that patients would otherwise have to travel to larger cities for. In June of 2022, the hospital broke ground on a $31 million building project that includes a Surgery and Imaging addition and Lab expansion, solidifying the hospital’s commitment to providing top notch local health care. 

• Hospitalist NP schedule is 7on/7off with 12-hour shifts
  • 15, 12-hour shifts per month; 7a-7p
• No ICU coverage
• Single Provider coverage allows for high level of autonomy

• Telehospitalist service overnight
• No night shifts, no call, no procedures and ER runs codes
• Blocked scheduling
• Average census of 4-5 patients with 1-2 admissions per day
• Physician support available via phone
• On Tu, We and Th the NP will do rounding and then travel up to 3o minutes to conduct some skilled/long-term care visits
• Excellent work/life balance

• Nurse Practitioner
• Board Certified
• Experience preferred
• Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States
