Looking for an on-call housekeeper to assist in a skilled nursing facility.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in working in large hospitals, institutions, or health facilities laundry is desirable but not mandatory
- Ability to understand instructions in English and complete tasks as assigned.
- Ability to read posted instructions for use of washers, dryers, pressers, etc.
- Clean, neat appearance.
- Dependability.
- Able to stand and walk most of the day and lift to 50 pounds
- Must be able to perform simple repetitive tasks continuously
REPORTING: The Housekeeping and Laundry reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
JOB DUTIES:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have good communication skills:
- Must be available to work 24 hrs. Seven days a week, except 8 hours between each shift, and if not available, a callback within the hour and notice is required. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action.
- They must have a phone consistently available to them.
- Must supply staff coordinator “Housekeeping supervisor” with a current phone number.
- Must have full knowledge of all job details of all runs of housekeeping and laundry after training for every run. This requirement will be at the discretion of the housekeeping supervisor and environmental specialist.
- Failure to cover shifts more than three “excused or not” times in a six-month period will result in disciplinary action.
- All other duties are as assigned by the housekeeping supervisor or administrator.
Housekeeping Duties:
- Clean resident rooms daily according to established facility procedures and cleaning schedules.
- Clean other areas of the facility daily as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor with weekly and monthly major housekeeping tasks when requested.
- Pick up dirty linens from linen storage areas and transport them to the laundry room, ensuring separation of load to safe amount before lifting.
- Sort the dirty linens before washing.
- Remove clean linen from the dryer, fold it, and transport it to clean linen storage areas according to established facility procedures.
- Clean the laundry room at the end of each shift.
- Attend in-service training as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
