Job Title: Shift Leader
Reports to: Director of Housekeeping
Department: Housekeeping
Location: The Union League of Philadelphia (140 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19102)
Description: The Shift Leader will be responsible for overseeing the cleanliness of the League House, providing supervision to the club housekeepers, and assisting with cleaning duties. This person must be detailed orientated, and able to work with others. The Shift Leader must be professional, pleasant, honest, and friendly; they should be able to handle all problems, while adhering to all policies and procedures and standards of the Union League.
Responsibilities:
- Training and overseeing the club housekeepers.
- Develop responsible methods for handling various cleaning solvents chemical, etc.
- Inspecting all bathrooms and public areas.
- Responsible for overseeing and assisting with deep cleaning schedule.
- Reports any needed repairs immediately to engineering {such as leaky faucet or toilet, loose tile, broken furniture).
- Attend all training sessions and meetings when needed.
- Completes all special projects.
- Works directly with housekeepers to ensure standards are being met.
- Conducts inventory.
- Leads by example.
Physical Requirements:
- This position demands good physical health.
- Will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and work a flexible schedule, must be able to move continuously during work hours and able to lift and carry 25 pounds.
- Work experience as a public areas’ supervisor or similar position.
- Able to safely handle and use chemicals.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including, weekends and holidays.
- Desire and willingness to work as a team with club house and other departments.
- Personal maturity, sound judgement, motivation and integrity.
