Sand Valley is a golf resort and community settled gently upon 12,000 acres of rugged, pre-historic sand dunes in central Wisconsin. Here, residents and guests will find five world-class golf courses built in harmony with the land: Sand Valley, Mammoth Dunes, The Sandbox, The Lido, and Sedge Valley. Position Summary:
- As a Houseperson, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the pristine condition of our guest rooms and ensuring a delightful stay for our visitors. From restocking supplies to cleaning and sanitizing, your dedication to cleanliness and exceptional service will contribute to our guests' unforgettable experiences.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Remove items from hallways and/or residences and transport to designated areas, including debris, room service food and beverage trays, unread newspapers, soiled linens, and trash.
- Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
- Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
- Deliver and put away clean linen and supplies to housekeeping staff at all outlets of the resort.
- Maintain all par levels of supplies and amenities in storage areas.
- Deliver found items to the front desk as soon as they are found.
- Organize and distribute clean laundry.
- Remove laundry and trash directly from guest rooms.
- Wash, dry and fold laundry.
- Assist in housekeeping tasks when necessary.
- Shampoo carpets.
- Perform other duties as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a hotel-related setting is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems, and multitask under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and a well-groomed appearance in all situations.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required, including weekends, until the end of October.
- Applicants must successfully pass a background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
Physical Requirements:
- Proficient in reading and writing English.
- Effective verbal communication with staff members and customers.
- Capability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to retrieve, read, and interpret information from technical sources.
- Stamina to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend, and kneel for up to 5 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.
Working Conditions:
- Your work hours may vary; most housekeeping shifts are 8am-5pm, encompassing weekends with 2 weekdays off. While primarily indoors, you will travel outside from room to room. Exposure to inclement weather, potentially hazardous chemicals, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, and sharp and rapid equipment movement is common. Safety compliance is essential to prevent injuries from environmental conditions and equipment hazards.
