Reports to: HR Manager
Status: Non-Exempt
Payrate Range: $19.11-$25.85
Summary Description
Highly organized and detail-oriented HR & Payroll professional with experience in processing payrolls in a fast-paced environment. Thorough understanding of HR & Payroll compliance, HR Data Entry, payroll processes, procedures, and regulations. Consistently demonstrates a high standard of professionalism and service. Proven record of working successfully with clients while adapting to change, maintaining internal records related to HR/Payroll and assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the HR/Payroll department.
Essential Job Functions
- Payroll processing and working knowledge of payroll processing platform and integration of it with the HRIS, data entry and reconciling timecards.
- Responsible for HR/Payroll administration and record keeping including compensation, garnishments, taxes and other deductions/earnings into the HRIS.
- Responsible for auditing new hires, I-9's and processing E-verify if applicable.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll items including new hires, terminations, transfers, changes to pay, etc.
- Ensure compliance with federal/state/local payroll, wage & hour laws and best practices.
- Responding to garnishments/levies, request for references, employment verifications, etc.
- WOTC, Background, BLS report assistance if applicable.
- Notice distribution assistance as needed.
- Creating reports - HR Reports, Performance, Anniversary/Birthday if applicable.
- Employee file maintenance and filing into HRIS
- Work with onboarding team to rollout new clients payroll services
- Retirement payroll administration.
- Maintain confidentiality of clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Participate in webinars/seminars to maintain knowledge of HR/Payroll practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
- Effective and professional oral and written communication skills with clients and others; Bilingual abilities are valued
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and data entry skills
- Must be able to identify, analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully and with attention to detail
- Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office applications and HRIS
- Ability to follow pre-established guidelines to perform a variety of functions
- Ability to follow professional appearance and dress code guidelines
- Ability to work independently
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in related area valued, Payroll or HR certification valued
- Minimum of two years payroll/human resources experience preferred
