About the Job
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for administrative, compliance, and safety support to the Human Resources department. Maintaining confidentiality of corporate and employee-related issues while effectively dealing with all levels of personnel within the organization is critical. In addition, this role will be responsible for coordinating Human Resource programs, events and communications.
WHAT YOU'LL DO ON THE A-TEAM:
- Document and maintain records for Workers’ Compensation, OSHA, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Family Medical Leave, and disciplinary actions in a timely manner.
- Data entry, maintain, and update accurate new hire information, employee information, work rule violations, disciplinary actions, and terminations into the HRIS system.
- Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for all HR processes.
- Facilitate onboarding process for new hires by creating all onboarding documents, providing communications regarding their orientation and first day instructions.
- Conduct new employee orientations, ensuring new hires understand company policies, procedures, and benefits, verifies I-9 documentation.
- Serve as an assistant and backup in addressing employee relations issues, attendance, work rule violations, and disciplinary actions.
- Participate as a member of or lead corporate continuous process improvement projects as needed.
- Support and assist Marketing in organizing employee engagement events.
- Learn and cross-train the Human Resources Manager’s responsibilities including legal compliance, employee relations, training, and process implementation.
- Oversee the offboarding process for departing employees, including exit interviews, return of company property, and deactivation of access.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Human Resources policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
- Experience in Human Resources or administrative support roles, preferably with exposure to recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Expert in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Human Resources software and applicant tracking systems (ideally UKG and Clear Company).
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks and challenges.
