$45,000 to $75,000 annually DOE

Job Summary
As a Human Resources Generalist in the Human Resources Operations department, you will be a critical
first HR point of contact for our frontline employees and supervisors. The HR Generalist will have both
administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping to plan and administer important functions essential
to the employee life cycle.
The Human Resources Generalist will lead Ziply Fiber’s new employee onboarding and orientation
experience and will be the primary administrator of our worker’s compensation and company leave
programs, as well as Federal and State leave programs, but will also help support a variety of other
essential HR administrative tasks.

This position is to be located within Northwestern Washington, Northeastern Washington, or Coeur D’
Alene, ID areas. This is mostly remote but must be able to travel to a local office up to 15% of the time
when necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed below are a range of duties performed by the employee

- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but
not limited to employee relations; performance management; employee recognition; benefits and
leave; disputes and investigations. - Act as a trusted resource to employees and leadership by handling questions related to policies,
programs, and procedures, including benefits, leave of absence, disability, workers'
compensation, and insurance claims. - Administer all leave of absence programs including STD, LTD, ADA Accommodations, Federal
and State medical and family leave. - Oversee the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, state paid
leaves, workers compensation, or other leave(s). - Prepare paperwork and communications, coordinating with cross-functional departments and
hiring managers for a smooth new hire onboarding process, including organizing and leading new
hire orientations to deliver an exceptional first-day experience. - Assist in creation, execution, and tracking of internal documents such as personnel action forms,
tuition reimbursement forms, etc. - Suggest new procedures and policies to improve efficiency of the HR department continually and
organization, and to improve employee experience. - Provide guidance and/or ensure compliance with employment regulations across multiple states.
- Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- With support from HR Director and HR Business Partners, maintain compliance with federal,
state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews
policies and practices to maintain compliance. - Cultivate and sustain effective working relationships across the company.
- Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or equivalent work experience in a fast-paced
organization. - Minimum two (2) years Human Resources experience.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience handling all aspects of leave administration including Federal
and State leave programs. - HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) a plus.
- HR experience working in a unionized environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of HR best practices in all aspects of the employee life cycle.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
- Ability to manage sensitive information and exercise excellent judgment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other Microsoft products as well as common HR
applications. - Able to travel, as appropriate, up to 15% of the time to local offices for various meetings and/or
other necessities. - Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk and working on a computer.

Work Environment
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a
computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily a modern office
setting.
