Who are we looking for?
Pacific Defense is seeking a Human Resources Intern. As a Human Resources Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in various aspects of Human Resources (HR) functions, including recruitment, employee relations, training and development, and administrative tasks. This internship will provide you with hands-on exposure to the day-to-day operations of the HR department and help you develop foundational skills necessary for a successful career in human resources.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (or recent graduate).
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prior HR-related experience or coursework is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist with job posting on job boards and social media platforms.
- Schedule interviews and coordinate interview logistics (e.g., interview room booking, video conference setup).
- Communicate interview details to candidates and interviewers.
- Provide timely updates and reminders to all stakeholders involved in the interview process.
- Support HR staff in handling employee inquiries and concerns.
- Assist in maintaining employee records and databases.
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives and activities.
- Help coordinate employee recognition programs and events.
- Contribute to special Human Resources (HR) projects as assigned, such as policy reviews or process improvements.
- Conduct research on HR trends, best practices, and relevant legislation.
- Support the HR department with new hire documentation collection, verification.
- Assist with generating reports such as - Requisition chart, end of week reports, etc.
- Partner with leaders at multiple levels of the organization to develop forward looking strategies and goals focused on the employee experience.
- Comfortable with calling candidates and following-up with them
