The Lake Estate on Winnisquam is a pristine New Hampshire lake resort, opening the Spring of 2025. As a new and innovative entrant into the high-end hospitality market, we are committed to creating an exceptional experience for our guests and a vibrant, fulfilling workplace for our team. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our leadership team and help build and nurture a world-class staff.
Position Overview:
The Human Resources Manager will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for shaping the people strategy at the Lake Estate. This role will oversee all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, performance management, and compliance with labor regulations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of luxury hospitality, a passion for employee engagement, and a strategic mindset to drive our company culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
- Develop and implement recruiting strategies to attract top talent in the hospitality, culinary, and spa industries.
- Oversee the onboarding process to ensure a seamless integration of new hires into our culture and operations.
- Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment that aligns with our brand values.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management and staff on HR-related issues, mediating conflicts and facilitating resolution.
- Training & Development:
- Design and implement training programs that enhance employee skills, promote career growth, and ensure service excellence.
- Lead initiatives for continuous learning and development, ensuring staff are equipped to meet the high standards expected in a luxury environment.
- Performance Management:
- Oversee the performance review process, setting clear expectations and providing coaching and feedback to employees.
- Develop and implement recognition and reward programs to motivate and retain top performers.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and prepare HR reports for management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
- 5 years of experience in HR management, preferably within the luxury hospitality or service industry.
- Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- A proactive, strategic thinker with a passion for creating an exceptional workplace culture.
- Experience in a start-up environment is a plus.
- Knowledge contracting with J1 Visa and/or International Internship Programs is a plus.
