The Human Resources/Payroll Assistant will assist in the day-to-day operations of both the Human Resource and Payroll Departments. The primary duties of the Human Resources/Payroll Assistant are to maintain digital employment records and provide backup for payroll processing. Essential Functions:
- Assist with all human resources activities, communications, reports, requests, and documents and data entry.
- Communicate, prepare, and send information to employees utilizing a variety of communication methods (i.e., phone, text,
- email, Zoom, in-person) employees on an ongoing basis through existing and new communications methods.
- Assist with recruitment plans, job postings, interview schedules and performance evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies and labor laws.
- Assist with recording PTO, LOAs holiday information onto ADP.
- Assist with payroll functions including but not limited to processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors.
- Serve as back up for payroll.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of human resources files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Review new hire documentation for completion, including Employment Transaction Report and Selection/Hire Authorization.
- Assist with setting up new employees in ADP as needed.
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientations as needed.
- Ensure proper completion of employee I-9 forms in the E-Verify system.
- Scanning and creating employee folders.
- Schedule and coordinate on-boarding assignments and mandatory training sessions. Follow up with employees and supervisors to
- ensure on-boarding tasks and training assignments are completed in a timely manner.
- Manage the duties of the position; for example, prioritize administrative tasks, set deadlines, and complete projects accordingly in
- a timely manner.
Education and Experience:
- 2-3 years of Human Resources and/or payroll experience.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
- Strong attention to detail.
- General understanding of labor laws.
- ADP Workforce Now experience with (Time and Attendance) and/or (Human Resource Module), Preferred
