Hydraulics & Hydrology Project Engineer - Colliers Engineering & Design

Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Professional Engineer with a comprehensive understanding of Civil Engineering in Hydrology & Hydraulics analysis and design. Familiar with principles and industry standards. Provides direction and supervision to less experienced staff and manages their daily responsibilities to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare Hydrologic & Hydraulic calculations and reports for public and private projects.
• Analysis and design of complex detention/retention systems.
• Prepare CLOMR/LOMR applications through local municipalities and FEMA.
• Monitor project costs and changes against budget.
• Monitor, specify, review, and analyze engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Review construction and design industry standards.
• Function as point of contact for consultants, contractors, professional and trade organizations, and other government agencies.
• Lead, organize, and review the work of subordinate employees.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS
  • 2-dimensional Hydraulic experience a plus.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS required.
• Minimum 3-7 Years of previous civil engineering experience is preferred.
• Experience in Civil3D preferred.
• PE license required.
• If operating a motor vehicle for the purpose of completing job duties, must possess a valid Texas Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Physical Requirements:

• Perform bending and reaching to both ground level and overhead.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.

Working Conditions/Environment:

• Primarily works indoors in an office environment; however, may be exposed to extreme weather conditions when conducting on-site field work for various engineering projects.
• Subject to safety hazards from working in and around traffic or excavation areas, dust and pollen from construction sites, cramped spaces and poor lighting from underground structures.
