Position Overview
Pantheon Data is seeking an IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Administrator to support a large-scale cloud migration project. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in administering and managing IBM WebSphere environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the migration and administration of IBM WebSphere Application Server environments from on-prem environments with AIX-based platforms to AWS GovCloud on RHEL8.
- Configure and optimize IBM WebSphere instances in the AWS environment, including setting up clusters, managing resources, and ensuring optimal performance.
- Collaborate with IBM Content Manager, DB2, and AWS teams to ensure successful integration and system operation post-migration.
- Implement security measures, including SSL/TLS and identity management solutions, in accordance with DoD standards and AWS security best practices.
- Monitor WebSphere environments for performance issues and potential risks, addressing them proactively to ensure high availability.
- Document WebSphere configurations, migration processes, and best practices to facilitate knowledge transfer and operational support.
- Provide application support and troubleshooting support during and after migration.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience administering IBM WebSphere Application Server environments.
- At least 3 years of experience with cloud-based deployments, preferably in AWS or AWS GovCloud.
- Strong understanding of RHEL and AIX systems.
- Experience with middleware integration, performance tuning, and automation tools.
- Familiarity with DoD security compliance standards and government cloud solutions.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of WebSphere in cloud environments.
Clearance Requirements
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Work Location
United States - Remote with occasional travel to client sites.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $132,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
