Under supervision, perform technical and specialized work of a skilled nature in connection with electrical systems, electronics, and instrument and control systems.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
+ Locate and repair defects in control systems involving electrical, solid state electronic, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic components.
+ Inspect, adjust, repair and calibrate electrical relays.
+ Install, calibrate and maintain single-element control systems and multiple-element control systems.
+ Inspect the various component parts of instrument and control systems; make adjustments or replacements to remedy faults in those not functioning properly.
+ Perform required maintenance and installation on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment.
+ Perform necessary functions to place in or remove from service, instrument and control systems undergoing study, tests or adjustments.
+ Troubleshoot PLC/SLC Logic Control Systems, Force Contacts, locate hardware I/O addresses. Build basic programming logic.
+ Dismantle, overhaul, reassemble and install electrical equipment. Work with low voltage through 6.9kv
+ Compile and record data relating to tests and investigations and prepare graphs, curves and reports.
+ Perform other job duties as assigned.

ICE Technician III - (33.07) - Education requirements are listed below: Associates degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Controls, or associated degree. Experience: Equivalent would include: Associate degree in another discipline and two years of related work experience, OR High school diploma with four years of related work experience OR High school diploma with two years of related military experience. An equivalent combination of related education and work experience in electrical systems, electronics, and/or instrumentation controls may be considered in lieu of a degree. Work Experience requirement listed below: An equivalent combination of education and experience would include post high school education at a college, vocational school, or military training in electrical systems, electronics and/or instrumentation controls or completion of a four to five year electrical journeyman apprenticeship program, plus a minimum of two years related work experience.
ICE Technician II - ($38.61) - Associates degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Controls, or associated degree. An equivalent combination of related education and work experience in electrical systems, electronics, and/or instrumentation controls may be considered in lieu of a degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience would include post high school education at a college, vocational school, or military training in electrical systems, electronics, and/or instrumentation controls or completion of a four to five year electrical journeyman apprenticeship program, plus a minimum of three years related work experience. Must have successfully performed all duties as an ICE Technician III, if hired as ICE Technician III, and pass a written test and job demonstration in order to advance to an ICE Technician II. Must successfully qualify for ICE Technician I within four years.
ICE Technician I - ($45.57) - Education requirements are listed below: Associates degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Controls, or associated degree. An equivalent combination of related education and work experience in electrical systems, electronics, and/or instrumentation controls may be considered in lieu of a degree. Work Experience requirement listed below: An equivalent combination of education and experience would include post high school education at a college, vocational school, or military training in electrical systems, electronics And/or instrumentation controls or completion of a four to five year electrical journeyman apprenticeship program, plus a minimum of four years related work experience. Must have successfully performed all duties as an ICE Technician II and pass a written test and job demonstration in order to advance to an ICE Technician I.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
+ Physical demand level is Medium and requirements details are listed below:
+ Must have performed the duties of, and maintained all the qualifications of ICE Technician III and must be able to pass an examination and/or demonstration as determined by the Company to advance to ICE Technician II.
+ Successful completion of the Power Plant Maintenance Selection System (MASS) test is required for this position. A review of Employment Testing Information, Test-Taking Tips, and the MASS Practice Test may be helpful. A link to these materials may be found at AEP.com Careers by selecting Employment testing.
+ Must have sufficient experience in the use of power plant instrumentation to have a working knowledge of process control.
+ Must have the working knowledge and skill needed to calibrate and adjust plant instruments and controls, and be capable of detecting and making repairs to complex control systems.
+ Must be able to read, interpret and work from moderately complex prints and specifications.
+ Must have a working knowledge of equipment and clearance procedures, and the rules, safety practices and procedures applicable to the work.
+ Must obtain and maintain all necessary certifications and licenses as required.
+ Must be available for callout.
+ Geographic Proximity - Must reside within daily commuting distance of the assigned work location in Tulsa, Oklahoma
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Climb ladders & stairs a number of times each day. Use fine dexterity to move switches & controls to precise locations. Detect color on alarms, equipment & other devices Hear announcements on the Plant PA system, and to hear abnormal sounds of plant equipment. Communicate plant information by phone, in person or by radio Work on heights, grating, platforms and catwalks. Exert up to 50 lbs of pressure to manually turn off valves. Able to stand or walk continuously for up to 8 hours.
