About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** SICU **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30); Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** 2 years in SICU, Teaching Hospital; 1 prior travel assignment completed **License:** DC RN License - Pending DC license accepted but must have a license prior to start date **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NIH **Must-Have:** - Experience with pulmonary artery lines, IV starts, and phlebotomy preferred - Neuro ICU certification preferred - Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity **Job Description:** - Work in a Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital - Facility is recognized as one of the top 50 heart and vascular centers in the country - Total staffed beds: 748 - Use Cerner for charting - Patient ratio: 1:2 - Scrubs in ceil blue, not provided by the unit - No on-call requirements; every other weekend required, holiday coverage as needed - Flu vaccine required with no exemptions - Potentially complete modules pre-start and during orientation - Orientation involves 28 hours at 50% non-billable **Additional Notes:** - Local radius within 60 miles with adjustments in rates - References from two supervisors required - If previously employed, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return - The manager may or may not interview; applicants must be comfortable with this approach - Modules typically average 12 hours and are recorded via transcripts during orientation
