The primary purpose of this position is to Assistant Chief, Analysis and Applications Team and Senior Analyst in the CONR-1 AF / A2 Directorate. As the Air Component to US NORTHCOM (AFNORTH), US SPACECOM (USSPACECOM) and CONUS NORAD Region Command, the senior analyst performs complex intelligence analysis on emerging and existing threats to Homeland Defense in all phases of conflict against US interests. Responsibilities -Serves as the CONR-1AF (AFNORTH) expert intelligence analyst for the AFFOR Commander and Directors on all intelligence matters including intelligence processes, analysis, indications and warning (I&W) of threats to theater, collection and production requirements, and reporting and dissemination. Assesses the adequacy, validity, and significance of information and analysis of subordinates prior to passing to commanders and other CONR-1AF (AFNORTH) leadership and staff. -Plans and directs the production of intelligence analytical products and reports for 1AF/A2A leadership, A2 Directorate leadership, and 1AF/AFFOR leadership and staff. Works closely and coordinates with NORTHCOM/J2, interagency partners, and intelligence community to develop assessments, intelligence summaries, and other analytical products. -Directs the Analysis Division's efforts in support of all CONR-1AF (AFNORTH) planning efforts. Reviews, provides quality control, and approves analytical threat assessments for mission analysis process. -Serves as the AFFOR's senior analyst in support of unit intelligence operations. Maintains program oversight and provides support to all aspects of intelligence analysis and operations to the AFFOR, subordinate Air Defense Sectors and gained operational units, as appropriate. -Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities over a limited staff. Structures assignments and assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and deadlines, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees. Ensures that mission requirements are met. Keeps management and employees informed on issues and decisions affecting them including feedback from conferences and meetings. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Extensive knowledge of the full range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence information systems to capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments. Knowledge of advance analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce detail analyses of complex information/situations attained from multiple sources, to include database manipulation. Demonstrated knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations and mission/functions, inter-relationships and operations. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the interplay of geographical, political, military, economic, and industrial forces in various regions of the world as well as intelligence methods and resources; maintains a broad knowledge of all-source analysis; knowledge of threat entities, operations, and capabilities that may be directed against USAF, DoD, and other US resources and knowledge of US intelligence community policies, entities, missions, resources, operations, capabilities, databases, and requirements to perform intelligence analysis, research planning, operations collection, target analysis, and other intelligence collection related activities. 2. Knowledge of the full range of principles and concepts of intelligence collection, analysis, evaluation, interpretation, and dissemination of information and knowledge of Air Force and command program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of intelligence actions related to actual events. 3. Skill in designing and conducting comprehensive studies, and preparing solutions to resolve substantive problems/issues of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations at a team level and skill in communicating complex subject matter to large audiences, including senior-ranking officials, in highly proficient, concise, and formal oral presentations, written reports/correspondence, and verbal communication in-person and via telecommunication. 4. Skill in producing finished intelligence reports and other products that are responsive to the specific needs of customers to include formulating and conducting original research; collating, organizing, and analyzing information; resolving conflicts; and presenting clear and concise findings and skill in handling and controlling classified data and equipment in accordance with established DOD security and classification guidelines and procedures. 5. Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data and render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implications of such data; and to apply facts and estimates derived from numerous sources to a variety of problems having different technical aspects. 6. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of a limited staff. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT'D: 1. Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed 2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Travel by regularly scheduled commercial or military conveyance in accordance with Joint Travel regulations may be required in performance of temporary duty. Incumbent will occasionally be required on temporary duty throughout the world including to remote locations with limited facilities. These temporary duty assignments could range from short duration to 179 days, and longer. While every effort will be made to schedule these assignments well in advance of the travel, travel may be required with extremely limited notice. It is imperative incumbent have an unlimited ability to perform such travel. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
