The MNIT DOC team runs many unique applications that manage the information and security of the department, supporting 4,500 employees across 10 prisons and 50 field offices located throughout the state.
As an IT Asset Coordinator/Security Analyst, you will be responsible for tracking, managing, and coordinating IT assets within the Department of Corrections (DOC), ensuring that all assets are accounted for, properly maintained, and effectively utilized.
Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting the DOC's information security efforts, including the assessing, and analyzing of DOC-wide information security products and services, and participating in DOC project assignments. This position is responsible for identifying, mitigating, coordinating, evaluating, and reporting on information security risks, ensuring DOC compliance with regulatory requirements, and designing anticipatory responses to minimize information risk.

This position requires an employee to be onsite at the work location 4 days per week, and will be required to travel to DOC Correctional facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of IT related experience in asset management and/or security analyst.
Experience must include:
+ Asset lifecycle management.
+ Understanding of security principals.
+ Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
+ Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for two (2) years of experience, OR an IT or related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Comprehensive understanding of technology systems and asset management, including lifecycle management, compliance, and proficiency with inventory management software.
+ Strong knowledge of information security principles, risk evaluation, and mitigation, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
+ Excellent organizational and communication skills for tracking, resolving asset discrepancies, and collaborating with stakeholders across varying levels of expertise.
+ Comprehensive understanding with conflict management and team collaboration, with a focus on optimizing technology operations and contributing to security-focused business planning.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office O365 tools and applications.
Physical Requirements
This position may require the ability to lift and move devices up to 40 lbs., transport equipment between locations, and work in confined spaces within a Minnesota Correctional facility. Adherence to all MNIT and DOC safety protocols is required. The completion of a Minnesota DOC Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions Worksheet maybe required.
