Position Overview/Responsibilities for the IT Security Analyst :
– Anticipate security threats, analyze incidents and security breaches, and recommend controls to reduce their likelihood
– Prepare reports documenting security incidents and breaches, and the extent of the damage caused by the breaches
– Recommend appropriate security tools and countermeasures
– Create and maintain Incident Response Playbooks and Runbooks for different types of security incidents/scenarios
– Perform anomaly detection and threat hunting to identify suspicious/anomalous activity requiring further investigation
Required Skills for IT Security Analyst :
– Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college
– 1-3 years of experience in IT Security (Security Engineer, Incident Response, Pen Testing, etc.)
– 3-8 years of experience in a related field (systems engineer, network engineer, systems analyst, systems administrator, etc.)
– CISSP certification required
– Familiarity with industry standards and regulations including PCI, HIPPA, NIST, HITRUST, and ISO27001
– Experience implementing security technology, i.e., IDS, IPS, EDR, Identity Management, etc.
