About the Role:
We are currently seeking a great candidate looking to accept the engaging and fulfilling role as an IT Support Help Desk Technician in our Tallahassee office. This position works collaboratively as a member of the IT Support team, and reports directly to the IT Support Manager. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to provide technical assistance to our employees and contractors across multiple offices and remote locations, and provide onsite support for our Tallahassee office. This role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, setting up equipment, and providing timely responses to support requests. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot a variety of IT-related problems.
*The hourly rate for this position will be between $20.00 - $25.00/per hour, based on experience.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Or 1-2 years of experience in a technical support/help desk role, ideally in a corporate environment, may substitute for education degree requirement
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems
- Experience with Office 365 and remote desktop tools
- Familiarity with basic networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN)
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Customer-service oriented with the ability to handle high-pressure situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or similar certifications desired but not required.
- Experience with Remote Support: Supporting users in multiple locations, including remote users across different time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Technical Support: Respond to help desk requests via phone, email, or ticketing system, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues related to hardware, software, and networking.
- Troubleshoot IT Issues: Diagnose and resolve technical problems, including connectivity issues, printer malfunctions, system errors, and software configuration issues.
- Install & Configure Equipment: Set up workstations, laptops, printers, and other peripherals for new hires and existing staff, onsite in Tallahassee. Potential to travel to branch offices quarterly to support equipment needs in other offices; travel outside of Tallahassee not required.
- User Account Management: Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts in Entra Active Directory, Office 365, and other internal software systems.
- Software Support: Assist users with software installations, updates, and basic troubleshooting of applications such as Microsoft Office, accounting software, and client VPNs.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of support requests and resolutions in the help desk ticketing system. Contribute to knowledge base articles and user guides.
- Collaborate with IT Team: Work closely with the IT team to escalate complex issues and implement technology upgrades or improvements.
- Security Awareness: Educate users on basic security practices such as password management, phishing awareness, and data protection.
- Maintain IT Inventory: Track hardware and software inventory, ensuring equipment is properly maintained, updated, and documented.
Work Environment:
- Location: Tallahassee office-based with some potential for travel between office locations. Due to the on-site needs when issuing equipment and managing equipment in the office, this position will not have the option to work from home.
- Schedule: Standard business hours with occasional after-hours support if outages are scheduled.
- Travel: Potential to travel quarterly to other offices but travel outside of Tallahassee is not required. Primary responsibilities will be on-site in Tallahassee.
This is an in-person, working at the office role. You'll find that between our regular team meetings, firm forum, and participation in office-wide events, we are committed to staying connected as a team.
