Overview:
The IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure and providing technical assistance to users. They are responsible for ensuring that all IT systems and equipment function seamlessly while promptly addressing technical issues to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Resolve hardware and software issues for end-users
Install and configure software and hardware
Provide technical support and guidance to users
Manage user accounts and permissions
Conduct regular system updates and maintenance
Ensure data security and integrity
Assist in network administration tasks
Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues
Create technical documentation and manuals
Train users on new hardware and software
Monitor IT systems for performance and security
Collaborate with IT team for system enhancements
Respond to support tickets and inquiries in a timely manner
Conduct regular inventory of IT assets
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Proven work experience as an IT Support Specialist
Proficiency in Windows and Mac OS environments
Strong knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Understanding of network administration and TCP/IP protocols
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are a plus
Experience with cloud-based services and virtualization technologies
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when necessary
