Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated In-House Wealth Management Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This role will provide critical legal counsel to our wealth management division, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while supporting our strategic business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Counsel: Offer expert legal guidance on wealth management, estate planning, and fiduciary matters to internal stakeholders.
Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts related to investment management, client agreements, and fiduciary services.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about and ensure compliance with SEC, FINRA, and state regulations affecting wealth management and fiduciary responsibilities.
Policy Development: Assist in creating and implementing policies and procedures to uphold legal compliance and best practices.
Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare comprehensive memoranda on complex issues impacting the firm and its clients.
Collaboration: Partner with financial advisors and cross-functional teams to deliver integrated legal solutions that enhance client service.
Representation: Represent the firm in legal proceedings and negotiations as required.
Training and Support: Provide legal training and resources to staff on relevant wealth management topics.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in WI.
1-5 years of relevant experience in wealth management, estate planning, or a related field, preferably in-house.
Deep understanding of investment products, fiduciary duties, and estate planning strategies.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to ethical standards.
