About the Job
Responsibilities of the incoming & shipping inspector include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform incoming & shipping inspections with appropriate equipment
- Communicate with Purchasing/Material Management on discrepancies, facilitate returns/replacements, and properly mark and record rejected materials.
- Segregate and protect identification and traceability
- Follow IMS policies and procedures in the HPT manual, NDMP, HPT Standards/Procedures, engineering specifications & drawings, and safety manual
- Examine shipment contents and compare them with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify the accuracy
- Maintain Production schedules per customer demands and reporting findings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and working areas
- Operate cranes, power lifts, and other heavy equipment
- Support and assist in the Quality and Production Departments as deemed necessary by the company
Qualifications for incoming & shipping inspectors:
- TRANSFORMER EXPERIENCE PREFERRED!
- High School Diploma or GED – associate degree in a technical-related field strongly preferred
- Have experience as an electrician or service technician for high voltage equipment or have electrical power equipment experience
- Must be a quick learner and a self-starter
- Proficiency in basic drawing/specification interpretation
- Must be able to work at varying weights on ladders and work platforms
- Must have good communication skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Must be safety-minded
- Flexibility in working hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- OT required as needed
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift objects of up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, and walk for many hours, as the shift requires daily.
- Understand and support quality control and quality assurance system
- Participate in complex issue investigations and investigation activities
- Ability to generate written reports
- Ability to work effectively with a team
- Organization skills and detail-oriented
