Industrial Engineering Internship (The Woodlands, Texas)
Huntsman is hiring for our 2025 Summer Industrial Engineering Internship Program. Our summer intern program is tailored to individuals who are currently enrolled full-time students at an accredited four-year college or university. The internship runs from May to August - dependent on the school calendar. The goal of the Huntsman Intern Program is to provide a structured program that will equip interns with the skills and experience to help prepare for a successful career. The internship program will allow interns to apply knowledge learned in school to a real-world manufacturing or R&D setting, and gain insight into the operation of a multinational chemical company
As an Industrial Engineering Intern you will:
- Identify business operations, systems, and process improvement opportunities
- Assist with efficiency optimization and cost reduction through improving product quality and general operations
- Participate in the project scope and cost estimate development for projects assigned.
- Participate in both onsite and offsite technical training opportunities.
- Be assigned small projects to lead from conception through completion.
- Attend project team meetings and report project status updates.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate procedures and guidelines. Ensure that annual required training is completed on time.
- Full-time presence in the workplace is required. If applicable, the ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure the required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
- Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives at all levels of the organization.
- Assists other employees in accomplishments of Huntsman company goals. Follow instructions and perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
- Excellent computer skills; especially proficient in Excel and PowerPoint are required to assist with day-to-day responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Full time college student at the Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level by the end of Spring 2025
- Must be currently enrolled at an accredited university seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering or equivalent program.
- Must have 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Must be eligible to legally work in the US without sponsorship
- Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in chemical plant manufacturing and analyses.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
- Able to build relationships across all organizational lines.
