We are currently looking for a full-time Industrial Machine Technician to join our 2nd shift team in Santa Ana, CA. The Technician will perform maintenance and repair procedures on various print and mail production machines and devices. We are looking for candidates with strong mechanical background and electrical knowledge. Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm. Initial training schedule could vary for the first 3 to 6 months.
Overtime is scheduled as needed and could require coming in earlier or staying later during high-volume production cycles. Preventative maintenance could be scheduled on a Saturday or Sunday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair mechanical and electronic failures to return equipment to factory specifications utilizing appropriate technical documentation, schematics, and procedures.
- Comply with all applicable safety procedures for working on mechanical and electronic devices including lock-out/tag out and anti-static procedures.
- Attend training courses or activities for various systems and sub-systems as required.
- Maintain time and repair records for all equipment serviced during shift.
- Confer with manager to prioritize maintenance and repairs based on production needs.
- Work with inventory coordinator to ensure stock levels are maintained as needed.
- Diagnose and perform routine maintenance/repairs involving the following: Electronic circuits/wiring, Drive and feed belts, AC/DC brush and brushless motors, Drive chains, Servo motors, Vacuum pumps/compressors, Electromechanical solenoids, brakes, clutches, Shafts, pulleys, gears and bearings, Photosensors, Pneumatic hoses, fittings and solenoids.
Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree or higher in electronic or mechanical engineering, or a certification in specialized mechanical or electronic/electrical training is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience as a production/manufacturing machine technician or similar role required; experience in a high-volume print and mail environment is a major plus.
- Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Proficient in employing effective troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams is required.
- Basic math skills required.
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail, prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Flexibility in work schedule to work overtime when needed is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly required to use hands and fingers to grasp and handle; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision skills required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
