Diamond Pet Foods, is actively searching for an experienced manufacturing maintenance technician with electrical & mechanical skills for a long term career in industrial machinery maintenance for our production and packaging facility in Gaston, SC.
Our Gaston, South Carolina facility is now accepting applications for a Full-Time Multi Craft-(Electrical & Mechanical Technician) in the maintenance department. The shifts are 12 hour (4am-430pm; 4pm-430am- Rotating Days of the week). Competitive wages and excellent benefits. POSITION SUMMARY - Performs calibration, troubleshooting, repair, justification, modification, installation and maintenance of complex instrumentation and control systems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot PLC code on new and existing equipment.
Participate and coach others to maintain power and controls equipment
Lead improvement projects and plant control upgrades
Ability to operate high speed making, packing, and other production related equipment
Make personal safety and safe operations a priority
Maintain a clean work area and utilize Good Manufacturing Practices by following all quality specifications and performing quality inspections
Know and use terminology and functions of machine components
Quickly and effectively trouble shoot and repair plant equipment
Develop and update electrical schematics for systems using AutoCAD
Effectively coordinate sub-contractors performing technical work
Other duties as required, in order to meet business needs
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. A wide variety of maintenance, repair, preventative maintenance, diagnostic and operational systems verification to ensure that all production machinery, electrical equipment and other systems remain fully functional at high performance levels for Diamond Pet Foods. Candidates should posses the ability and experience to analyze, test, diagnose, repair, and install as needed new and used or reconstituted parts or entire machine systems; including experience in, and an aptitude for electrical processes.

Two-year technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred
Three years' experience supporting machine control systems preferred
Solid understanding of PLC hardware, PLC programming, VFDs, and HMI
Solid understanding of servos, encoders, linear actuators, pneumatic equipment, and sensors
Must be able to read and write English
Must be able to successfully pass the work keys skill sets.
