The Opportunity As a Maintenance Mechanic, you are directly responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, and systems in a food processing environment. In this role you will use your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to identify and fix issues, ensuring the optimal performance of machines and minimizing downtime. What You Bring Visually inspect machinery /equipment for defects such as breakage or excessive wear Repairing production or processing equipment. Specializes in troubleshooting and repair of modern automated equipment. Troubleshoots and analyzes complex problems and implements proper remedies while ensuring that all safety guidelines and regulations are adhered to when repairing or maintaining equipment. Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions. Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and engineering staff to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and equipment. Maintain operations of systems such as pneumatic, hydraulic, ammonia, etc. Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, breakers, switches, receptacles, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Repair, replace, and maintain the physical structure of equipment. Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Preventative maintenance of equipment. Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated. Working with Material Handling Equipment daily. Fast paced work environment with, in, and around industrial machinery. Cold storage environment. Production rooms are kept at a constant 32 degrees (and below in certain areas). Ability to withstand cold storage temps for extended periods of time. Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the shift. Ability to lift to 50 pounds without reasonable assistance. Must be able to frequently push, pull, kneel, bend, and reach with both arms. Ability to work in a refrigerated environment. Production rooms are kept at a constant 32 degrees (and below in certain areas).
