Job Requisition: REQ3067 Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Hiring Range: $80,204.80 -$104,270.40
The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
Responsibilities:
+ Makes recommendation regarding prevention and control on a 24 hour basis.
+ Works with employee health regarding relevant staff member health issues.
+ Monitors and investigates known or suspected sources of infections to determine the source and ensure control.
+ Reviews, analyzes, and implements regulations, standards, and/or guidelines of applicable governmental agencies and professional organizations.
+ Collaborates in the development and delivery of educational programs and/or tools that relate to infection prevention, control, and epidemiology.
+ Reports infection surveillance, prevention, and control in formation to local, state, and federal public health authorities in accordance with law and regulation.
+ Participates in the development of special studies designed to identify unusual epidemic situations or to evaluate the impact of new products, equipment, or delivery of patient care.
+ Reports results to Infection Control Committee and other appropriate departments and/or committees.
+ Coordinated the annual Infection Control Risk Assessment in conjunction with IC committee.
+ Cooperate with county and state departments of health regarding infections and communicable disease reporting.
+ Facilitate the implementation of the Leapfrog Safety Grade Hand Hygiene Program.
Complexity of Work:
+ Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Licensure / Certification / Registration: Preferred Credential(s):
+ Registered Nurse credentialed from the New York Board of Nursing.
+ CIC certification or enrollment within 1 year of hire into CIC program with the expectation of CIC certification within 18months
Education:
+ ·Bachelor’s degree in nursing required, Masters preferred.
+ Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English.
Work Experience:
+ Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience Previous experience in direct patient care
+ Has worked collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams focused on quality/ regulatory compliance initiatives.
+ Education to staff and providers.
