Infection Preventionist LPN/RN

Cedar Ridge Health and Rehab Center is looking for an Infection Preventionist to join our growing team! 

As an Infection Prevention Control Nurse, you will be responsible for the administration of the center’s Infection Prevention and Control Program. You will identify, investigate, and report infections and communicable diseases and educate staff on the control and prevention of those infections. This position is responsible for maintaining Cedar Ridge's Infection Control and Prevention Program. The Infection Preventionist (IP) RN/LPN is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting healthcare-associated infections. The IP collaborates with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention strategies.

Your Job:

• Treat and care for residents and their property with dignity and respect.
• Responsible for the planning, coordination, and assurance of quality care services to residents.
• Implement evidence-based guidelines
• Program and project management
• Completion of Risk Assessments pertaining to Infection Control
• Conduct ongoing staff development, training and quality assurance performance improvement monitoring to insure adherence with the organizational standards, professional guidelines, state, and federal regulations.
• Provide nursing care within your scope of practice.
• Possess reliable transportation and the ability to be on time for assigned shifts.
• Work cooperatively with healthcare team members to maintain established standards of care.
• Maintain the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all care rendered.
• Encourage restorative care to obtain maximum resident independence.
• Any other job duties, as assigned by my management.

Who You Are:

• Current Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control, infectious diseases, and/or epidemiology in patient care practices OR prior Long-Term Care experience preferred
• A professional team player with a commitment of maintaining a reliable shift history
• Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on providing genuine hometown care
• Enthusiastic about helping others and being part of a team who focuses on the same
