About the Job
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) leading the project, and in collaboration with other research team members, the Research Intern-Graduate is responsible for assisting with a variety of non-administrative tasks which may include preparing resources, equipment, and materials for the research, managing data collection, maintenance, and cleaning, engaging in dissemination of findings (such as research presentation or manuscript preparation), etc. in support of the research activities. Engages in experiential learning through select research activities. Responsible for completing research and project activities as assigned by a Health Services and Informatics Research team member. Applies academic knowledge to daily activities. Collaboratively works with team members to ensure rigorous and ethical conduct of research tasks and related activities.
The key responsibilities of this position may include:
1. Implements study procedures, such as daily research study tasks (e.g., participant tracking,
management, and cleaning of incoming data, etc.), and ensures data quality and confidentiality.
2. Collects data through approved study procedures, library research, structured interviews, or
another project specific methodology.
3. When appropriate, Interprets, synthesizes, and analyzes data.
4. Meets with study team on regular basis to maintain ongoing communication about project tasks.
Maintains high quality work.
5. When appropriate, contributes to external dissemination (reports, articles, blogs, etc.).
6. Provides regular reports on the status of research activities.
Must be a current undergraduate college student. This student intern must be proficient in Microsoft Office. The traditional schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Must be a current undergraduate college student or graduate college student. Specific educational focus or degree may be preferred depending on the hosting department of the internship. Specific license and/or certification may be preferred depending on the hosting department of the internship. GPA of 3.0 or above Submission of Cover Letter Resume and Letter of Recommendation. Other qualifications may vary by department of internship.
