Link Solutions is seeking an Information Assurance Specialist to join our team in support of the US Army's Medical Material Development Activity (USAMMDA) at Fort Detrick, MD.

The Information Assurance Specialist will plan, coordinate, integrate, implement, manage, and maintain IA and IT solutions IAW Risk Management Framework (RMF) and IAVM program. The IA Specialist will work with system owners to prepare and maintain the certification and accreditation document. Coordinate with system owners, security control assessors, NEC, and the IM/IT branch to ensure the USAMMDA LAN maintains a security posture that is IAW with current regulations, instructions, and policies.

Job Responsibilities:
+ Recognize possible security violations and take appropriate action to report the incident, as required.
+ Provides Risk Management Framework, circuit/system accreditation, and certification policy services.
+ Participate in the development or modification of the computer environment IA security program plans and requirements.
+ Helping develop procedures to ensure system users are aware of their IA responsibilities before granting access to DoD information systems.
+ Provide oversight for the Computer Network Defense-Service Provider (CNDSP).
+ Ensure IA security requirements are appropriately identified in computer environment operation procedures and collect and maintain data needed to meet system IA reporting requirements.
+ Maintaining security policies and standards.
+ Ensuring compliance throughout the organization.
+ Ensure IA requirements are integrated into the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) for that system or DoD Component.
+ Work with system owners to close IAVMs/ICVMs and open plans of action and milestones (POA&Ms).

+ Must be a US Citizen.
+ Knowledge and proficiency using Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) application.
+ Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
+ IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE equivalent or higher)
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with a comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts with five (5+) years or eight (8+) years of relevant experience in place of degree requirement.
+ Experience performing Information Assurance functions and using RMF IT security controls and policies.
+ Proficiency with Security Tools and Standards.
+ Understanding of network protocols and architectures.
+ Familiarity with common cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
+ Experience with basic scripting or programming languages.
Preferred:
+ Active Secret Clearance
+ BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with a comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts.
+ Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
+ Experience with Knowledge Management or process creation.
+ Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
+ Strong written and verbal communication.
+ Capable of conveying complex information simplistically.
+ Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
Security Clearance:
+ US Citizenship is required.
+ Background Investigation Requirement: National Agency Check with Local Agency and Credit Checks (ANACI).
+ Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
+ DOD Security Clearance is required (Secret-Level minimum).
+ A DOD Interim Security Clearance (Secret-Level minimum) is accepted until full DOD Security Clearance has been granted.
Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods. The position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have enough mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. This may include lifting weight up to thirty (30) pounds, as necessary.
