What does it mean to be an Infrastructure Administrator?
The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the configuration, implementation, and monitoring of all desktop systems and client management systems. This position will be responsible for administrative functions within Microsoft Office 365, as well as ensuring that the GLS network infrastructure is monitored at all points and running at optimal performance.
How will you drive value within the organization as an Infrastructure Administrator?
- Support and manage Microsoft technologies including Kace, Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, Azure & Office365, and other systems
- Provide second-level support and administration of Microsoft services such as SharePoint, Exchange, Teams, and Flow
- Collaborate with security team members to ensure company client systems are properly protected and monitored against cyber threats
- Support and manage local switches and wireless access points
- Maintain inventory documentation of all company client devices
- Maintain documentation for all client software licensing
- Coordinate with software and hardware vendors on purchasing and shipping logistics of equipment
- Participate in the team on-call rotation for incident management
- Perform additional assignments and special projects as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management
What should you already know to be successful as an Infrastructure Administrator?
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field of study is required
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex situations to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
- Intrinsically motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify needs, make recommendations for improvement, see recommendations through implementation, and evaluate improvements for effectiveness
- Excellent interpersonal skills: friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others, effectively manage conflict, exercise sound judgment, effectively manage highly sensitive and confidential information, and interact at all levels within the organization
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Team player that can adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Proficient computer skills with a working knowledge of internet and standard business applications; Ability to quickly learn new computer applications as required
