Infrastructure Analyst/Engineer at TEKsystems

TEKsystems Retail Financial Services client is in need of an experience Infrastructure Analyst to join their organization. Currently most if not all of their core infrastructure is supported by a MSP/3rd Party. Our client is looking for an experience all around Infrastructure Guru that can help solve complex problems related to their Unix servers, understand scripts to translate what the command lines are saying, acting as an analyst to the business/apps side, and much more. Often times these types of problems need an understanding of basic networking, how components work together in order to identify and help resolve issues. This is not a typical role but an opportunity for an experience infrastructure professional to impact a global enterprise organization at a high level. Not a true sys admin but MSP does most of our admin work. Need to enjoy helping us with managing systems/application migrations, server decommissions, K Shell scripting, moving integration tasks from scripts to MQ, creating/managing jobs in Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS), working on firewall/proxy requests, etc. We have a lot of Life Cycle Management work. A LOT of experience in many different areas would be really helpful. Experience: • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Linux/Unix, preferably RedHat, including the ability to write/understand Shell scripts • Some experience with Windows Server administration • Solid experience/understanding of the following application/system/infrastructure areas o Network: Firewalls, Proxy servers, DNS, Azure network storage, CIFS (Common Internet File System) shares o Security: Active Directory, SSL/Certificate management, TLS o Integrations: SFTP, MQ/MQFT, REST APIs, HTTP Requests • TWS (Tivoli Workload Scheduler) experience is a plus • Excellent troubleshooting & problem-solving skills They will be helping us manage several technical projects to modernize some of our systems/applications. They will need to be good at analysis of existing systems/infrastructure as well as having the ability to be hands-on with systems when needed. Core responsibilities: • Drive modernization as part of infrastructure/technical projects, including functionally leading/supporting other team members. • Quality and continuous improvements with respect to availability, capacity, security, and IT service continuity in the delivered application infrastructure services and hosting services, interacting with internal and third-party infrastructure teams. • Optimization of the operation for On behalf Of (OBO) technical services and legacy technical services. • Provide support, conduct pre-check and preventive maintenance tasks according to Support Service agreements. • Work functionally on, incident, problem, knowledge and change management processes & roles, essential for runtime quality of the application infrastructure & core infrastructure. • Create operational documentation for implemented infrastructure components.
