Carolina Industrial Staffing is currently seeking Ink Technicians for one of our companies in Blythewood, SC.
*Must be able to work a 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule and available to work 7am - 7pm or 7pm - 7am. Must have good attendance*
Must have mechanical, machining, and chemical experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following. Other duties might be assigned:
- A member of the production support team of individuals who are multi-skilled and cross-trained on all required process equipment.
- In conjunction with Press and Coater crews, assist in performing quality and meeting manufacturing goals.
- Ensure timely ink, coating, adhesive and solvent availability for maximum efficiency of Press and Coater/Laminator.
- Prepare inks, coatings and adhesives for upcoming jobs including color match to standards prior to start-up.
- Be able to follow written recipes and formulation for preparing WETS for each finished goods.
- Manage required daily inventory control.
- Prepare WETS for upcoming jobs.
- Ensure all quality checks are taking place.
- Return WETS for finished jobs.
- Receive inks, coatings and solvents
- Prepare hazardous material for shipment.
- Maintain all parts in good condition.
- Perform appropriate PM on equipment.
- Operate forklift.
- Observe and make recommendations on all issues regarding safety, quality, and production.
- Perform daily and periodic cleaning in order to maintain the required 5-S standards throughout the manufacturing area.
- All other duties appropriate to the position as assigned or required.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Basic knowledge of computer software and functions.
