Summary
Managing a team of sales representatives and sales support resources who sell products and services by using all communications available (telephone, email, ecommerce, social media, and other technology). The Inside Sales Manager will be responsible for ensuring the team has effective customer relationships and our outside sales teams, develops opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assures market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts. The Inside Sales Manager will complete account planning and forecasting, analyze reports on business, and manage the performance of the inside sales activities and team.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise team to maintain effective relationships with customers, end users, distributors, and outside sales team.
- Lead the inside sales team to drive sales strategies to meet sales plans and expand business within assigned territories; Ensure team maintains a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives.
- Manage primary communications and pricing agreements with all Distribution and Representative lines.
- Maintain and drive gross profit percentage goals and initiatives for the company.
- Utilize sales software within the team to improve lead generation and quote to sales conversions.
- Lead efforts to develop and maintain ecommerce sales platforms for the business.
- Monitor all inventory levels and implement actions with purchasing to improve turns and reduce obsolete inventory.
- Monitor all open quotations and orders, expediting as needed to achieve customer requirements.
- Oversee all customer issues for returns, defective parts, or price issues.
- Perform sales calls and vendor relations with customers and potential customers primarily by phone, email and internet technologies.
- Manage pricing and customer discount programs to control profitability.
- Manage overall performance of team members, providing regular feedback and development plans.
- Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for proper management of inside sales activities.
- Research competitors and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers incorporating this data in the business plan; introduces new products and services.
- Monitors employees' expense reports, reimbursements, allowances.
- Show initiative to develop programs to drive growth in any economic condition.
- Provide training and development plans for sales personnel.
- Perform other assignments as requested from senior management.
- Monitor progress and changes, keeping the senior leadership team abreast of variations in strategies and sales and distributor activities.
