The Internal Sales Manager will be a key player in the Inside Sales Department at Primus Pipe and Tube. This role involves managing and leading the internal sales team, overseeing the quoting process, and standardizing sales processes to enhance efficiency and performance. The Internal Sales Manager will act as a vital connector and right-hand person to the Vice President of Inside Sales, ensuring seamless operations and strategic alignment within the department.
Your Tasks
Sales Management and Leadership:
- Set performance targets and conduct regular performance reviews for team members.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the internal sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals.
- Foster a collaborative and high-energy work environment to drive sales success.
- Implement training programs to enhance the team's sales skills, product knowledge, and customer service capabilities.
Quoting and Order Management:
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely quotes to customers.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure quotes reflect the company’s pricing strategies and terms.
- Review and approve large or complex quotes, providing guidance on pricing and negotiation strategies.
- Ensure that all customer orders are processed efficiently and meet company standards.
Process Standardization:
- Develop, document, and implement standardized sales processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Monitor and evaluate existing processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
- Ensure that sales processes are aligned with overall company goals and objectives.
- Utilize sales analytics and metrics to drive process improvements and operational excellence.
Strategic Support and Collaboration:
- Act as the primary liaison between the internal sales team and the Vice President of Inside Sales, providing regular updates and insights.
- Support the Vice President in developing and executing sales strategies, campaigns, and initiatives.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to the development of sales goals and objectives.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., shipping, operations) to ensure alignment and support for sales efforts.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve sales processes and product offerings.
- Ensure that customer service standards are met or exceeded by the internal sales team.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, quoting accuracy, and process effectiveness to the Vice President of Inside Sales.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Use data-driven insights to drive decision-making and optimize sales strategies.
Your Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., sales management) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, with a strong background in quoting and process standardization. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
Skills:
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Strong experience with quoting processes, order management, and sales administration.
- Excellent organizational and process improvement skills.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in sales management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
- This position is based at our Wildwood, Florida facility.
- Some travel may be required for customer visits or industry events.
- Must be able to work in an office environment and occasionally in a manufacturing setting.
