Job Title: Early Childhood Instructional Assistant
Reports to: Head of School
Location: Austin, TX
Status: Part-Time (approx 25 hrs/week) for the 2024-2025 school year

JOB OPPORTUNITY
The instructional assistant will:
Assist in creating an environment conducive to students’ spiritual, academic and social development.
Assist the lead teacher by helping to facilitate effective lessons that develop students’ academic habits.
Assist the lead teacher by helping to develop students’ social-emotional growth.
Consistently model and encourage behavior that cultivates meaningful relationships within the students’ classroom and school community.
Model and implement City School’s Christian religious beliefs, mission, vision, values, philosophy of education and student formation beliefs.
Demonstrate a passion for both teaching and serving children.
Demonstrate willingness to grow in understanding of the Charlotte Mason approach to education.
Work well within a collaborative, united and supportive co-teaching model with the lead teacher.
Step into the lead teacher role when the lead teacher is out.
Assist the lead teacher with classroom administrative tasks.
Communicate well (written and oral) with students, parents, colleagues and supervisors.
Effectively steward all designated school materials and equipment.
Attend required staff meetings, special events, and professional development sessions.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
Active member in good standing at a Christian church.
Hold at least a High School Diploma.
Preference given to candidates with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience, especially in a Charlotte Mason educational setting.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a teaching license and/or certification.
Preference will be given to bilingual candidates, Spanish.
