ABOUT THE POSITION
Are you passionate about creating impactful learning experiences? VHB’s Learning and Development team is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Instructional Design Manager to join our corporate team! As our Instructional Design Manager, through sound Project and Resource Management practices you will lead the instructional design function, focusing on the development, organization, and strategic implementation of advanced training programs and content. You will thrive in dynamic settings, balancing consistency with flexibility, and excel at adopting new tools and methodologies to ensure top-quality training solutions that meet our clients' evolving needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Strategize: Guide the instructional design team in developing and implementing comprehensive Learning & Development (L&D) programs that align with VHB’s strategic plan and key growth initiatives.
- Conduct Needs Assessments: Perform thorough assessments via surveys, interviews, and consultations to identify skill gaps and provide strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with colleague client teams to understand business challenges, identify solution approaches, and navigate design, development, and delivery phases.
- Create Advanced Content: Oversee the creation of advanced instructional content, including eLearning modules, training manuals, and course materials. Apply the latest best practices in instructional design and adult learning theory.
- Player-Coach Role: Design learning solutions on select projects, providing hands-on expertise and guidance.
- Foster Creativity: Cultivate a creative and innovative mindset, ensuring the development of engaging and scalable learning experiences.
- Integrate AI Technology: Implement AI-driven tools and strategies in instructional design to enhance learning experiences and increase efficiencies.
- Full Lifecycle Management: Manage the full lifecycle of training projects from conception to delivery, ensuring engagement and effective learning outcomes.
- Quality Assurance: Review training deliverables to ensure high quality and adherence to VHB brand standards and QA/QC programs.
- Data-Driven Insights: Develop and implement metrics and feedback mechanisms to evaluate program effectiveness. Use advanced data analysis to assess ROI and drive continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure instructional design initiatives align with organizational needs.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to instructional design team members. Offer clear and effective feedback to enhance their skills.
- Engaging Facilitation: Facilitate workshops and lead training sessions with strong communication techniques and an engaging presence.
- Operational Excellence: Streamline administrative aspects such as budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Stay Current: Keep up with industry trends and advancements through active participation in professional development opportunities.
- Compliance and Integrity: Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7-10 years of professional experience in instructional design, with a successful track record of leading complex L&D initiatives.
- Expertise in instructional design and adult learning theory.
- 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning and Development, Human Resources, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Skills and Experiences
- Proficiency with industry-standard design/rapid authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Captivate, Lectora, Camtasia, Synthesia, Arist, WalkMe, and client proprietary authoring tools.
- Experience and knowledge in applying AI-driven tools in instructional design.
- Advanced project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong problem-solving, customer service, and analytical skills.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
- Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven.
- Proficiency in advanced data analysis for evaluating training program ROI.
- Strategic planning skills for comprehensive L&D program design.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
- Expertise in workshop facilitation and training session leadership.
- Cross-cultural competence in a diverse problem-solving environment.
- Excellent business acumen.
