Responsibilities
The Instrument Control Specialist (ICS) is responsible for operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and coordinating the Energy Management System at a large government facility with a focus on preserving facility asset value and minimizing operating costs. With over 5 years of experience working on Honeywell control systems, the ICS will assist the Honeywell contractor in commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, establishing communication links, and conducting end-to-end testing and troubleshooting to ensure equipment functions correctly.
The ICS will also perform basic maintenance services on the Building Automation System (BAS) and assist building engineers in diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, and air handlers. Working closely with CBS’s in-house Energy Management team, the ICS will receive additional support in maintaining and optimizing the Honeywell BAS Control System in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Salary $50.04 hourly. This position is eligible for overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot environmental systems related to ESPC services to preserve facility assets and reduce operating costs.
- Assist Honeywell contractors in commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, creating communication links, and performing end-to-end testing of control systems.
- Perform basic BAS maintenance services, including temperature set point adjustments, software reloading, and troubleshooting control devices.
- Support building engineers in diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems such as chillers, boilers, air handlers, and other mechanical systems.
- Ensure the Honeywell BAS Control System is maintained according to the manufacturer’s specifications, including hardware maintenance and software updates.
- Maintain an adequate level of expertise to manage and support the BAS and provide regularly scheduled maintenance using manufacturer-trained or equivalent operators.
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- Over 5 years of experience working with Honeywell control systems.
- An associate degree in a relevant field.
- Certifications related to Honeywell control systems and environmental systems management.
- Strong technical expertise in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting BAS and HVAC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and data.
- Experience with commissioning, programming, and servicing building control systems.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in Honeywell control systems and BAS maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for environmental and HVAC systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, engineers, and energy management teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
Schedule:The ICS will work on-site during regular business hours, with availability to assist with urgent maintenance needs as required.
